April 20th, 2003, Claremont Park in South Salinas next to the Mission School, CACA held their annual Easter Egg Hunt. There wasn't much advertisement about this outing but people somehow knew about it. Because the Salinas Parks & Recreation does not allow barbarbing, the hot dogs & buns were cooked at the Association Kitchen, wrapped in foil to keep them warm.
The event was attended by about 90 people - 40 of these were the egg-huntung kids. Some of our old friends who were home visiting family for the holiday came to join the fun. (Denise & Jeff Cheang, Maxine & Melissa Gong, Sue Lowe, Susan Lum, Eleanor & June Yee)...seems like just yesterday that WE were the "kids" hunting for the prize eggs!!
